Speaking on the meeting, Vijayvargiya said, "In Hubli, Mamata Banerjee said that we will play. What does 'play' means? It means occupying the polling booth, intimidating voters and no fair elections. TMC wants to try to 'play' all this and keeping this in mind, we have informed the Election Commissioner about all the information...They are also violating code of conduct of elections." West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in 8 phases, from March 27 to April 29, 2021.
Bengali actor Srabanti Chatterjee joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kolkata on March 01 ahead of the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections. The actor joined the party in presence of West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh and party's election in-charge in the state, Kailash Vijayvargiya. West Bengal Assembly elections will be held in eight phases starting from March 27 with the final round of voting taking place on April 29. Counting of votes will take place on May 02.
BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya on February 26 urged Election Commission to appoint additional officers with extra forces so that people can vote fearlessly. "I expect from the Election Commission to have a peaceful election. For this, EC should also appoint additional officers with extra forces so that people can vote fearlessly," said Vijayvargiya.
After tweeting 'Metroman' E Sreedharan, who recently joined the BJP, will be its chief ministerial candidate for the Kerala assembly elections on April 6, Union Minister V Muraleedharan clarified on Thursday that the party has not made any such announcement. Muraleedharan, who tweeted in this regard earlier, clarified, saying he wanted to inform that through media reports he learnt that the party has announced Sreedharan as the chief ministerial candidate. But when he cross-checked with Kerala party president K Surendran, he said he has not made any such announcements, Muraleedharan, who is also a former BJP state president, said. The development comes on a day the 88-year-old technocrat announced his decision to end his 24-year long career with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to enter electoral politics.

Term of 125 municipal corporations in West Bengal including Kolkata Municipal Corporation ended a year ago. But state government appointed Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders as administrators of these local bodies." "These administrators should be removed to ensure free and fair polls," he added.
Shiv Sena party has announced that the party will not contest in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections. The party also has expressed its solidarity with the Trinamool Congress. The Shiv Sena’s chief Spokesperson Sanjay Raut announced the party’s stand in a statement through his tweet.

Singer Aditi Munshi joined TMC in presence of party MP Sougata Roy in Kolkata during a press conference. She is the wife of North 24 Parganas Trinamool Youth Congress president Debraj Chakraborty. On the other side, film actor and director Dheeraj Pandit, actor Subhadra Mukherjee and BJP leader Usha Chowdhury also joined TMC today. West Bengal Assembly polls will be held in eight phases starting from March 27 with the final round of voting will taking place on April 29. The counting of votes will take place on May 02. West Bengal is likely to witness a triangular contest this time with TMC, Congress-Left alliance and the BJP in the fray.
