With an aim to strengthen and to connect with the next generation of Kashmir, Indian Army organised 'A Day with Company Commander' in Baramulla. During the event, children of the surrounding areas got an opportunity to visit the Army Camp and experience the life of army personnel. Games were also organised for children for their entertainment. The children wholeheartedly participated in all the events with great enthusiasm and vigour. Children enjoyed the event and expressed gratitude to Army for conducting such an event. The aim of this outreach program is to make relationship with people and children of Kashmir valley. The event was organised by 52 Rashtriya Rifles (RR). Indian Army frequently organises such events to stop youths to indulge in anti-social activities and to motivate them to join Army. Free medicines were also distributed during the event.

A batch of foreign envoys arrived in Srinagar on February 17 for a two-day visit to the Union Territory of JandK with aim to assess the on-ground situation. Srinagar Municipal Corporation Mayor Junaid Mattu said that the visiting dignitaries were apprised of the landmark elections of DDC and urban local bodies.
