Shantir Ogrosena, multinational military exercise, concluded in Bangladesh on April 12.The armed forces of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka participated in the exercise. Observers from the US, UK, Turkey and Saudi Arabia also participated. The multilateral UN-mandated counterterrorism exercise was held from April 4-12. The Indian Army contingent that participated comprised of 30 personnel. Indian Army chief Gen M M Naravane attended the closing ceremony of the exercise. A 10-day multinational military exercise named 'Shantir Ogrosena' in which troops of four countries including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka participated, culminated on April 12 in Bangladesh. The exercise also included observers from the US, UK, Turkey and Saudi Arabia and others. The exercise from April 4-12, was organised to pay tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his birth centenary and celebrate the golden jubilee of the liberation of Bangladesh. The aim of the exercise was to strengthen defence ties and enhance interoperability amongst neighbourhood countries to ensure effective peacekeeping operations, the Indian Army said on April 12.
In a seminar themed "Tapping the potential of Kashmir- Another Day in Paradise'' organized by the tourism department, MasterChef India winner Pankaj Bhadouria presented a live cooking demonstration. Students of Hotel Management (IHM) Srinagar and delegates from other countries including Kenya participated in the seminar. The program was organised by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Srinagar.
Two terrorists and three associates were arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district. Police seized arms and ammunition from the possession of the terrorists and their aides. Police said that as per the preliminary probe those arrested were working for Al-Badr terror outfit. “We acted on specific information regarding movement of terrorists in the area. A special checkpoint was established near Kachloo Crossing by security forces. During checking of vehicles, three people were apprehended by the alert forces. They were riding a motorcycle and tried to escape from the spot initially. After interrogation, they revealed about two more people who were then nabbed,” a police official said. Two of the arrested were captured from Baderkali forest area following a search operation. Police said that they were planning to attack security forces installations.

The shrine of Sufi saint Jaan Mohammad Sahib located in Jammu - Kashmir Rajouri town is an abode of peace and tranquillity. Every year thousands of people irrespective of their caste and community throng the shrine to commemorate the death anniversary or Urs of the Sufi saint, who throughout his life spread the message of oneness and brotherhood. Community Kitchen or Langar was also set up to serve a meal to the devotees irrespective of their caste or community. Forming an integral part of Indian ethos for the last several centuries, even today the Sufi traditions play an important role in the lives of the people and connote them with an understanding of the world in all its spiritual dimensions.
Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri were seen conducting a snow-clearing operation. They key Mughal Road was covered with a thick blanket of snow. Heavy machinery was deployed to remove the snow. The Mughal Road connects Shopian in South Kashmir to Poonch and Rajouri. Watch the full video for more.
