The Central Government has given permission to Haffkine Institute to produce Bharat Biotech's Covaxin. CM Uddhav Thackeray thanked PM Modi through a tweet by CM office, Maharashtra on April 15, "The Dept of Science and Technology, Government of India, has granted approval to Haffkine Institute to produce Bharat Biotech's Covaxin vaccine on a transfer of technology basis. CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray has thanked the Hon'ble PM Shri@narendramodi for approving this request."
Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava urged Delhiites to follow the restrictions imposed by the Union Territory Government for their own betterment. "We are responsible for the current situation, everybody knows about COVID appropriate behavior, if situation like this arise than people are also responsible for it," said Shrivastava. The Delhi Police Commissioner added that self-isolation is the best possible solution against COVID-19. "I urge everyone to avoid themselves from uneven movements and social gathering," he said. Delhi reported over 16,000 COVID-19 cases on April 15.
Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Director Professor Jagat Ram informed that 70% of COVID-19 samples sent to the National Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC), Delhi in March had the UK variant of coronavirus which is very infectious. President Ram Nath Kovind, who was shifted to the AIIMS from Army Hospital (RR) in Delhi, will undergo a "planned bypass procedure" on March 30 at the hospital. President Kovind's condition is stable. The President was taken to the Army Hospital on March 26 after he felt chest pain, as part of the routine checkup, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
