First ferries arrive in Dover and Dublin under post-Brexit rules

The first ferries have arrived in Dublin and Dover under new trade rulesbetween the UK and EU member states, following the end of the Brexittransition period.

In Dublin, around a dozen freight trailers cleared the newchecks required without delays.

After 47 years as an EU member state, the UKhas become a third country for trade purposes and customs declarations.
