NCP leader Ajit Pawar, who is part of the Maharashtra government led by Shiv Sena, and Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Devendra Fadnavis shared the stage for the inauguration of a water supply project in Pune on January 01.
Their appearance together raised eyebrows in the political corridor of Maharashtra, and also drew sharp reaction from the workers of NCP and BJP.
Workers from both the parties created ruckus after Pawar and Fadnavis attended the event.
Both the leaders politically shook the state after suddenly taking oath as Chief Minister and Deputy in Maharashtra in late 2019.
Their stint ended after NCP chief Sharad Pawar made Ajit back out from the brief partnership.
In a fresh twist to the Mukesh Ambani threat case, the owner of the car found abandoned outside the businessman's house was found dead. On February 25, a Scorpio laden with 2.5 kg explosives and a letter threatening Ambani and his family was found outside the Reliance Industries' chairman's Mumbai resident 'Antilia'. On March 5, police said that the owner of the car, Hiren Mansukh, was found dead after allegedly committing suicide. While addressing the media in Mumbai on March 05, the former chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis spoke on matter of suspicious car found near Mukesh Ambani's house Antilia. Fadnavis said, "I asked in House for protection to Mansukh Hiren, as he is the main link in the case and might be in danger. Now, we get to know of his body being found. It makes the case fishy." The post fell vacant after Nana Patole resigned on February 4 and later joined as Congress Chief for Maharashtra. On Thursday, BJP’s Sudhir Mungantiwar also pointed out the delay in electing the Speaker. Sudhar demanded that the Chair announce a schedule to election the Speaker. Amid rising cases of coronavirus in Mumbai, Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that there is a possibility of another lockdown. Pednekar said that people will have to take precautions or else the government will have to consider moving towards another lockdown. Expressing "full faith" in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar, on February 11 called out hypocrisy of several political parties on the voting medium. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that his party would contest 20-25 seats in the Goa Assembly polls due on 2022. He also took a jibe at casino business in Goa. "I won't say to ban casinos but there should be a discipline. The biggest corruption going on in country is the business of casino," he said.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar countered NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s tweets over farm laws. Tomar said that the ex-agriculture minister was 'misinformed'. "Sharad Pawar has been vocal on agricultural issues. He tried to improve agriculture when he was the minister. His tweets today were disappointing. Farm laws are to provide better prices to farmers.
