The Rashtriya Rifle Battalion in collaboration with an NGO has set UP a bakery unit in Rajouri's Lam village. Unemployed women were trained on baking skills for three weeks by the coordinator of Assem Foundation. Based on self sustainment model, bakery unit has modern machinery installed for smooth functioning. Project aims to generate employment, make woman self-reliant and self-dependent. Total of 12 women were trained for running this bakery. Earlier also Rashtriya Rifle battalion has carried out various projects like Tailoring cadre, driving cadre, computer classes in order to empower local women.
Seven-day long mega awareness cum exhibition 'mela' was organised in J-K's Rajouri by district administration in collaboration with Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB). A large number of people participated in the program and different stalls were also organised to create awareness.
The security got beefed up in JandK on Feb 17 after a suspicious object was found at the highway in Manjakote near Rajouri. The object in question was later neutralised by Bomb Disposal Squad.
