French President’s adivsor meets PM Modi, discusses bilateral & global issues
Emmanuel Bonne, the Diplomatic Advisor to the French President, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday and discussed wide-ranging bilateral as well as global issues.
On a visit to India for the annual strategic dialogue between Paris and New Delhi, the diplomatic advisor to French President Emmanuel Macron had held talks with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Thursday.
French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain was also present during the meeting.
While speaking to media in Jaipur on March 04, the Transport and Soldiers Welfare Minister of Rajasthan, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas spoke on state budget. Khachariyawas said, "On one hand, there is Ashok Gehlot government's Budget which has brought relief to all with no tax and then there is Narendra Modi government's Budget which has increased excise duty on petrol and diesel." "They ended LPG cylinder subsidy and increased rates by Rs 300," he added.
National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval attended Vivekananda memorial lecture on January 23. He said, "Swami Vivekananda used materialism and spiritualism different from the conceptual prototype. He told the youth that you'll be nearer to heaven playing football than studying the Bhagwat Gita. He understood that every individual, society or nation have to meet its basic materialistic requirements to exist and progress."
A delegation of All India Sajjadanashin Council comprising of 20 Sajjada Nasheens of prominent Dargahs of India met NSA Ajit Doval on January 18. They discussed the current threats posed to peace and harmony in the country by radical forces. "We came here regarding the basic problems being faced by Sufis. Doval Sahib listened to us very patiently and we are confident that our grievances will be conveyed to the government," said Syed Nasiruddin Chishty, Chairman of All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council.
The visiting foreign envoys arrived at Magam block in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district on February 17. They were briefed on Panchayati Raj and grievance redressal through Back to Villages and Block, thus elaborating how the administration reaches the doorstep of people. The delegation also interacted with the locals in Budgam. French envoy Emmanuel Lenain and Italian envoy Vincenzo de Luca interacted with the locals in Magam block of Budgam. A batch of foreign envoys from 24 nations is visiting the union territory.
French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain on January 23 said that the two countries have always been side-by-side in both good and bad times and also cited examples of 'nuclear test in Pokhran' and 'medicine supply during COVID-19 time'. "India and France have been side-by-side in both good and bad times. When India decided to conduct nuclear test in Pokhran, we were on your side as we understand your strategic autonomy. During COVID-19, you (India) shipped medicines needed in French hospitals. We are very grateful for that again...Very clear statements were released by your government and Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) when our values like secularism were under attack in my country," said Emmanuel Lenain.

The restoration work of Seto Macchindranath Temple, one of the 28 heritage sites which will be reconstructed with the help of India's assistance, has begun on Sunday in Kathmandu. Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra along with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) Sushil Gyawali and Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidya Sundar Shakya jointly carried out 'Bhoomi Pooja' for the restoration of Seto Machindranath temple. The conservation work of Seto Machindranath temple is the first of the 28 cultural heritage conservation and restoration projects being undertaken by the Indian government. New Delhi has committed a sum of 580 crores for cultural heritage sector. All the 28 sites were identified by Nepal Government and both India and Nepal signed Memorandums of Understandings (MoUs) in August 2017. The Seto Machindranath Temple will be conserved as per Nepal's Ancient Monument Preservation Act, and the Department of Archaeology's Basic Guidelines and Manual for conservation and reconstruction of heritage affected by the 2015 earthquake using material close to the original building material at the time of its construction as per the traditional ethos, local traditions, and values that sustain and enriches such living heritage sites in Nepal. The temple located in the heart of Kathmandu city is visited by Hindus and Buddhist devotees to worship Seto Machindranath are considered to be one of the Protectors of the Kathmandu Valley.
Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh assumed office of Command of the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) at Eastern Naval Command headquarters in Visakhapatnam. He took charge as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C) of Eastern Naval Command from Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain. New ENC was honoured with a ceremonial parade at the Naval Base.
