BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has likened West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to US President Donald Trump and added that she also has the traits of a dictator.
Ghosh cited the US Capitol attack and said that the West Bengal CM may also refuse to leave the secretariat after losing polls.
‘The manner in which Donald Trump is behaving today, if a dictator like Mamata Banerjee loses, she won't leave Nabanna.
Her behaviour makes people think that she can do something like this.
She won't be ready to leave Nabannna even if she loses the election,’ Ghosh said.
West Bengal is gearing up for the Assembly Election for 294 seats this year.
The tenure of the current government in the state of West Bengal is coming to an end on May 30.
Several TMC leaders have deserted the party to join the BJP ahead of the polls in the state.

BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya reacted on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's statement calling the party "more dangerous than Naxals". He said that BJP doesn't need CM Banerjee's certificate that it is dangerous or not. "People of the country have made Narendra Modi Prime Minister second time so we don't need Mamata Banerjee's certificate,' he said. He added that BJP will only choose those TMC leaders who are not indulged in anti-national activities.
Days after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that she would contest the upcoming state assembly election from Nandigram, now her former aide turned BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has hit back. While Adhikari refused to confirm his candidature from Nandigram, he said that he would guarantee the victory of the candidate the BJP fields in Nandigram. ‘Mamata Banerjee has announced to contest from there, relying on 62,000 votes but I have 2.13 lakh people who chant 'Jai Shri Ram,’ Adhikari said. Political temperature is rising in West Bengal as the 2021 Assembly election approaches. ‘Goli maro’ slogans were heard, this time at a Trinamool rally in Kolkata. Meanwhile, clashes erupted in Purba Bardhaman between workers of the two parties. Some BJP workers were injured in the clashes and have been admitted to the hospital. Speaking to ANI in Siliguri on January 19, West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Dilip Ghosh spoke on Suvendu Adhikari's remark. Ghosh said, "Who knows Nandigram better than Suvendu? It is in his hands. If he has said it, he might do it as well." "Violent politics will continue under the Trinamool Congress (TMC) rule. They have tactics to stop BJP but it weakened with time. We will bring in a change in West Bengal. As development is inching closer, they are getting uneasy and doing this. We reduced TMC to half in '2019 and will wipe them out in 2021," he added. On January 18, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said, "She (WB CM Mamata Banerjee) goes to Nandigram only during elections. Can she tell what has she done for the people of Nandigram? Whoever would contest against her, she would lose by 50,000 votes. If I fail to make her lose, I will leave politics."
Violence erupted in Kolkata during an election rally on January 18. A BJP worker was allegedly injured when stones were pelted at the rally. The stone pelters allegedly carried TMC party flags. In response, BJP workers also allegedly indulged in violence. Two-wheelers at the roadside were allegedly vandalized and stones were also pelted at buildings and shops in the area. The BJP roadshow was led by Dilip Ghosh and Suvendu Adhikari. “BJP is absolutely ready to give a befitting reply to TMC in West Bengal. We are ready to defeat Mamata Banerjee no matter where she contests elections from. Senior BJP leaders made her enter Nandigram but today we have an opportunity to oust her,” said Ghosh. Ranjan Banerjee, senior vice-president of Aditya Birla Group, joined the BJP in Kolkata on January 20. He joined the party in the presence of BJP's national vice president Mukul Roy. Meanwhile, Arindam Bhattacharya, a former Congress MLA who later switched to TMC joined BJP. He joined BJP in the presence of party leader Kailash Vijayvargiya in New Delhi. Speaking to ANI, Ranjan Banerjee said, "I thank BJP for giving me this opportunity to serve the people of the state. We need to bring industries here so that people can get employment." Bengal is going for polls in the mid of 2021.
