An FIR has registered against Prakash Jha directed 'Aashram' in Rajasthan's Jodhpur under SC/ST Act for allegedly promoting discrimination against Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes. Station House Officer of Luni, Sitaram Pawar said, "The complainant DR Meghwa, in his complaint, said that in the first episode of the web series 'Aashram', the people of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities are insulted and the series promotes discrimination in society. We have registered the case under relevant sections of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, and further investigation is underway." Bollywood actor Anupria Goenka speaks to HT City Entertainment Editor, Monika Rawal, about her stint on the erb vis-a-vis films. With three web series that released last year - Asur, Aashram and Criminal Justice season 2 - Anupria had a great 2020 and she says, "It's easier to get meatier parts on the web because there's so much content being made and makers are always looking out for actors." Having starred in big banner films such as Tiger Zinda Hai, Padmavat and War, Anupria is thankful that she got to collaborate with some of the best actors in the industry and she insists she never felt that her smaller parts in films is anyway lesser than what she is doing in the web space. The actor also shares her views on the debate around web censorship, the kind of roles she wants to do and stories she wants to be a part of and how she continues to expand and explore. About the biases in the film industry, be it insider outsider debate or stereotypical casting, Anupria hopes that things change and everyone is given a chance to show what they're capable of doing. "I want to run a project on my shoulder or do a film where I am leading the narrative. I think I'm prepared for that," she says.

A MBBS student has allegedly committed suicide in Rajasthan's Jodhpur. A final year student at MDM Hospital was found hanging from fan of his hostel room. Speaking to ANI, a police official said, "Final year student at MDM Hospital was found hanging from fan of his hostel room. Post mortem and room search will be done in presence of family member." "Investigation will be done accordingly," he added.
Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu was admitted to a hospital in Jodhpur on February 17 after he complained of restlessness, discomfort in knees and other ailments. Asaram Bapu is serving life imprisonment in Jodhpur Central Jail in a rape case.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Saturday said his party will contest the upcoming Assam Assembly polls with the "like-minded" parties, a step seen as an effort to eat into votes of the BJP among the Hindi-speaking people. Yadav, during his maiden visit to Guwahati, said he has already met Congress Assam chief Ripun Bora and will hold talks with the AIUDF to formalise the alliance. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit out at the Modi government over rising fuel prices. Rahul accused the Centre of emptying the pockets of the common man and filling the pockets of its friends for free. “When you see the fast moving meter while filling fuel in your car at the petrol pump, do remember that the crude oil rates have not risen but fallen. Petrol is at Rs 100 a litre. The Modi government is doing the great work of emptying your pockets and filling the pockets of its friends,” the Congress leader tweeted in Hindi. Meanwhile, businessman Robert Vadra rode a bicycle from his Sujan Singh Park residence to his Sukhdev vihar office in protest against the rising fuel prices. “If I have to be people's voice then first I have to change my mode of transport. We can only request Prime Minister to look into the matter,” said Vadra. Youth wing of Shiv Sena also staged protest in Mumbai against rising fuel prices.
