Parts of North India witness zero visibility due to dense fog

The cold waves continued to prevail North India.

Kanpur was covered with thick layer of fog and the visibility was extremely low.

In Punjab's Amritsar, icy winds hit normal lives.

Locals were seen using bonfire to keep themselves warm in the harsh winters.

Similar situation was witnessed in Noida as cold waves gripped the city.

According to IMD, zero visibility was reported over Delhi, Lucknow and Amritsar due to variable and calm lower-level winds today.

Similar fog conditions are likely in the morning of Jan 17 as well and visibility is likely to improve from Jan 18.
