Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on March 07 inaugurated a Jan Aushadhi Centre at Deep Market in Ashok Vihar area of the national capital on the occasion of Jan Aushadhi Diwas, today. Approximately 1 to 1.25 crore people are taking medicines from Jan Aushadhi Kendra every month. In 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared March 7 as Jan Aushadhi Diwas for promoting and increasing the outreach of generic medicines. The theme of 3rd Jan Aushadhi Diwas this year is "Seva bhi- Rozgar Bhi" to highlight the meaningful employment to pharmacists along with assured access to quality medicines for all sections of the society.
While addressing an event on World Hearing Day on March 03, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Harsh Vardhan said that National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness (NPPCD) will target over 6 percent of India's population with disabling hearing loss. "Our National Program for Prevention and Control of Deafness has enhanced its reach to cover nearly 80% of the country's population. We plan to expand access to affordable hearing technologies for all those in need," he added.

PM Modi paid tributes to Mahatma and said his ideals continue to motivate millions. Defence minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to Gandhiji on his death anniversary. CDS Bipin Rawat along with other officials also paid homage to Bapu. Paying tribute, Delhi CM said Mahatma’s ideals of truth and non-violence are still relevant. UP CM Adityanath paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the Gandhi statue in Hazratganj. Mahatma’s death anniversary is observed as Martyrs' day or Shaheed divas. Mahatma Gandhi was shot dead on this day in 1948 by Nathuram Godse.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said Delhi’s health system didn’t collapse during Covid due to reforms and better management. Kejriwal was speaking at a Republic day event in Delhi. The Chief Minister of Delhi even hoisted the Indian flag at the event at Delhi Secretariat. The chief minister said despite drying up of tax revenue due to the pandemic, the AAP government managed to pay salaries to its employees. While talking about the pandemic, Kejriwal said that over 3.12 lakh people recovered under home isolation that was started first in Delhi. “In developed countries, patients were lying on floors in corridors. We studied it and understood that everyone who got sick was taken to hospital, even those with mild symptoms. Doctors in Delhi came up with home isolation. We decided that asymptomatic patients would be treated at home,” said Kejriwal. Watch the full video for more.

He said, "8,100 people will get the vaccine at 81 vaccination centres in Delhi. I appeal to the people not to pay heed to rumours. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that the national capital will have its own board for schools in the area, which will be called the Delhi Board of School Education. The establishment of the board was approved at the Delhi cabinet meeting. Arvind Kejriwal also talked about the launch of Mission Challenge and Mission Foundation, along with the success of the happiness curriculum introduced in government schools.
After announcing Delhi will have its own board of education, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal hopes that in the upcoming 4-5 years, all school will voluntarily get affiliated to Delhi Board of School Education and their CBSE affiliation will be scrapped. He further said, "In academic session 2021-22, we will include 20-25 schools in this Board."

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) opened its headquarters for public viewing from January 30. It has been opened as a part of heritage walk initiative in Mumbai. Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray was also present over there along with other party workers. This initiative is a joint venture of the civic body and the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), and involves guided tours through the building, with story-telling sessions about its historic and architectural significance. BMC headquarters is 128-years-old and was completed in 1893. The building has been constructed in the Venetian Gothic, Indo-Saracenic style. The heritage tours has commence this weekend, with four batches of 15 people each. Following this week's take off, every subsequent week will have eight batches, depending on the off take. Each tour will cost Rs 300 per person excluding camera usage charges.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on January 21 inaugurated the first-ever Public Recreational Centre (PRC) at Green Park, State Horticulture Nursery (SHN) in Dimapur. The park has 3 Gazebos, 2 Pergolas, 2 Outdoor Gyms, 1 cafeteria, and tiled pathways, developed in an expansive 30-acre area, to encourage an active lifestyle. The chief minister added that three more places in Kohima located at Old Zoo Ministers Hill, Nagaland University campus at Meriema, and Fishery complex at Thizama have also been identified for setting up of recreational park for public utility.The park will be open for public from 6 am to 4 pm.
The Guru Harikshan Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Kidney Dialysis Hospital has been opened by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. This is the first hospital where there will be no cash counter. There will just be a registration counter for sick patients from whom no money will be taken. It is a 100-bed kidney dialysis hospital where up to 500 patients can undergo dialysis every day. The hospital has 50 electric chairs. People will be able to get online registration by visiting DCGMC website.

Shah Rukh’s father, Taj Mohammed Khan, died of cancer when the actor was just 15 years old. Shah Rukh lost his mother Lateef Fatima Khan after a prolonged illness in 1990.

An Air France flight en route from Paris to New Delhi made an emergency landing at Sofia Airport in Bulgaria on Friday at about 5 pm because of a disruptive passenger. The passenger, an Indian citizen, began to act up soon after take-off, quarrelling with other passengers, assaulting a flight attendant and pummeling the cockpit’s door.
