Severe winters continued to tighten its grip over northern India.

The national capital remained shrouded in dense fog reducing the visibility in the morning of January 19.

Delhiites shivered due to the cold waves blowing across the city.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the national capital recorded temperature of 8.6 degrees Celsius in the morning.

IMD had predicted that temperature in Northern plains will begin to rise during day and fall in the night.
