Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on demands for reservations by several communities said a 3-member high-level committee will be formed to look into the matter. "We've appointed a high-level committee to look into all reports, demands for reservation by communities, increase in 50% constitutional provision, Supreme Court judgements and legal framework -how to go ahead with demands and give social justice to the people," said Karnataka Home Minister. Basavaraj Bommai added, "So a 3-member high level committee has been appointed. It will be headed by a retired High Court judge who will be its Chairman. There will be one administrator and one person who will be well versed in social science."

Earlier, India supplied COVID-19 vaccines to neighbouring countries Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh under the 'Neighbourhood First' policy.

An ex-serviceman, who was a star medal awardee during the India-China war, now drives an autorickshaw in Hyderabad for a living. Sheikh Abdul Kareem, participated in the India-China war and was posted in Lahaul area. He has now urged the government to provide a house to ex-servicemen who fought to defend the country. ‘Despite winning a good service medal, I have not even received any sort of pension or any financial support from the government. Sheik Abdul Kareem received a special award for his contribution in the1971 Indo-China war. During Indira Gandhi reign due to surplus of army personnel, several were removed from their postings.
