Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired BJP’s central election committee meeting in Delhi. BJP’s CEC met to finalise party candidates ahead of elections. PM Modi, Home minister Amit Shah, Defence minister Rajnath Singh were present in the meeting. Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan was also seen in the meeting. The meeting was held at BJP headquarters in the national capital. This comes ahead of polls in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. While speaking to media in Kolkata on March 02, West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Dilip Ghosh spoke ahead of the West Bengal Assembly polls. Ghosh said, "Core Committee discussed candidates for Phase 1 and 2 polls. It will be declared soon. We also reviewed the upcoming election rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Yogi Adityanath in the state."
On the issue of security of senior citizens in the national capital, SN Shrivastava, Commissioner of Police, Delhi said that, a total of 39 thousand senior citizens are registered under Delhi Police Senior Citizen cell. Recently we started a public relations campaign and sent public relation vehicles. Through these, 600 more senior citizens have been registered. The beat officers regularly visit and meet these senior citizens. The Senior Citizen Cell talks to them and ensures help. During the COVID period, they were especially taken care of as they could not get out of their house. They could not get medicines and necessary goods. So that too was fulfilled by police personnel.
Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy on March 2 took the first shot of COVID-19 vaccine in Hyderabad. Reddy, after taking the vaccination waited in the waiting room. Reddy will take another shot of the vaccination after two weeks. Many ministers and chief ministers are expected to take vaccination in this phase of vaccination drive. On March 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS, Delhi. On March 1, the country has opened immunization for those above 60 years of age and those over 45 who have co-morbidities.
Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy attends 74th Raising Day of Delhi Police on Feb 16. "We conducted an impartial investigation in North-East Delhi violence using technology and evidence. 1 constable lost his life while many personnel got injured. Didn't discriminate on the basis of religion and registered 755 cases. Nearly 1,800 were arrested," said Delhi Police Commissioner.
After announcing Delhi will have its own board of education, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal hopes that in the upcoming 4-5 years, all school will voluntarily get affiliated to Delhi Board of School Education and their CBSE affiliation will be scrapped. He further said, "In academic session 2021-22, we will include 20-25 schools in this Board."
