As the second phase of vaccination drive began across the nation on March 01, Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar took his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Patna today. CM Nitish took the vaccination on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
While speaking to ANI in Patna on February 26, the former deputy chief minister of Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi spoke on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'North-South' remark. Modi said, "He (Rahul Gandhi) gives justification and Robert Vadra stands in his support and say he hasn't said it. When he (Rahul) visits north-east, he says something against north. When he visits south, he says something against north." "This is why Congress is being swept off from the country. He thinks it will benefit him in Kerala but he is wrong. He won't be benefitted by the politics of instigating one state against the other," he added.

Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that his Cabinet colleagues had decided to pay for Covid-19 vaccine. The announcement came on the day that India expanded the inoculation drive to include those aged above 60 years, and those aged 45+ with comorbidities. Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar chaired review meeting with officials over 2021 Haridwar Kumbh Mela at Police HQ in Dehradun on February 19. State DGP discussed crowd control, transportation and police deployment with State officials in the meeting. While speaking to ANI, Kumar said, "Officials from border states and Central agencies met over arrangements related to Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2021 today. Issues of crowd management, law and order, transportation and COVID protocols discussed. No VIP movement will be allowed on main 'Kumbh Snan' Day." The grand Kumbh Mela will start from April 01 to April 30 in Haridwar.
Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar on February 18 informed that one body and a body part have been recovered from Tapovan tunnel, while a body found from Raini village's north side today following glacier burst. "1 body and a body part recovered from Tapovan tunnel while a body found from Raini village's north side today. Body count is at 60 now. 27 body parts have been retrieved so far. Search and rescue op will go on for long time as large amount of debris and mud stocked inside," he said to ANI. A glacier broke in the Tapovan- Raini area of Chamoli District of Uttarakhand on Feb 07, which led to massive flooding in Dhauliganga and Alaknanda Rivers and damaged houses and the nearby Rishiganga power project.
Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar informed about the interstate meeting on Kumbh Mela that will take place on February 19 in Haridwar. Ashok Kumar said, "Preparations on for Kumbh Mela. New ghats, bridges, parkings, four-lane highways have been set up ahead of Kumbh Mela. NSG, ATS, QRT and women commandos will be deployed for security purposes."
