While speaking to ANI in Bhubaneswar on February 27, the Health and Family Welfare Minister of Odisha, Naba Kisore Das spoke on rising cases of coronavirus pandemic. Kisore Das said, "Passengers arriving from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh will undergo screening test at airport in Odisha. If any symptom found, they will undergo antigen test." "Those testing COVID positive will be kept under isolation," he added.
A 10-year-old kid from Odisha's Bhubaneswar has rewritten the holy book of 'Ramayana'. A student of fourth standard, Ayush Kumar Khuntia had done this work after watching the episodes of 'Ramayana' on television during the lockdown amid coronavirus pandemic. He has named the holy book 'Pilaka Ramayana' (Ramayana for Children). It has 104 pages in his mother tongue i.e, Odia. It took Ayush two months to complete the religious book of Ramayana.

The scientists of ICAR-National Rice Research Institute in Odisha's Cuttack have developed a solar pest management 'Alternate Energy Light Trap' device. They received patent for the device on February 08, 2021. 'Alternate Energy Light Trap' device will help in identifying and mass trapping of insects attacking crops. They had initially filed patent for the device in the year 2014. Then, the final patent was filed in 2015. While speaking to ANI, the Principal Scientist (Entomology) in Crop Protection Division of ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Dr Shyamaranjan Das Mohapatra said, "We have got a patent for the device. It helps in identifying and mass trapping of insects attacking crops."
Eco Cottages and Restaurant at Nature Camp in Satiguda was inaugurated on March 01. Situated in Malkangiri district of Odisha, eco cottages will attract the nature lovers. It was inaugurated by Member of Parliament (MP) of Nabarangpur, Ramesh Majhi. Several officials were present during the inauguration ceremony. The eco-cottages at Nature Camp in Satiguda were started by the Forest and Environment Department of Odisha government. Visitors clicked selfies and photographs during their visit. The main motive behind inaugurating this park is an attempt to change the image of Malkangiri which is known as the Naxal-affected area. While speaking to ANI, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Malkangiri, Pradeep Devidas Mirase said, "Malkangiri is known as Naxal-affected area. This park is an attempt to change it." "We have made eco-park and nature camp here. We are making efforts for further development," he added.
