Ambulances queued up outside the crematorium as COVID patient relatives are forced to wait a long to cremate the bodies in Yelahanka on April 18. A COVID victim's relative said, "I'm here for my sister's son who died of COVID. We waited for 4 hours for our turn. There are many like us here." Another relative of deceased said, "I have come here for my brother who died of COVID. We have to wait for hours for our number. Crematoriums space should be increased."
Former Chief Minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy admitted to Apollo Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru on April 17. He had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier today. He appealed to people in his close contact to get themselves tested for the virus.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday, hours after chairing an emergency meeting on the coronavirus situation in the state. He tested positive for the second time in eight months. Yediyurappa will be shifted to Manipal hospital from Ramaiah Memorial hospital in Bengaluru where he was admitted earlier today following a fever.
Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar on April 19 on medical infrastructure amid COVID situation said that the issue is not oxygen but the issue is that big hospitals are not having any plans."The issue is not oxygen, but there are some big hospitals that don't have plans. So that logistical issue is still there, how to handle that is what we are contemplating. But we'll somehow resolve it," Minister said. "There is no dearth of oxygen but there are some logistical issues that we are sorting out. We will sort it out in a couple of days. We have called a meeting under our Industry Minister, all the producers and suppliers of oxygen. We'll sort out the issue," he added.
Maharashtra reported 67,123 fresh COVID cases, 56,783 discharges, and 419 deaths on April 17. While Maharashtra's capital reported 8,834 new COVID-19 cases, 6,617 discharges and 52 deaths in last 24 hours. On the other side, Karnataka today registered 17,489 new positive cases, 5,565 discharges and 80 deaths. Kerala also reported 13,835 new cases, 3654 recoveries and 27 deaths today. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh reported 11,269 new coronavirus cases, 6,497 recoveries, and 66 deaths in last 24 hours.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended the inaugural session of Indian Air Force commanders' conference at Air Headquarters in Delhi on April 15. It is the first bi-annual Indian Air Force (IAF) Commanders' Conference for the year 2021. IAF Chief RKS Bhadauria was also present in the conference. Conference aims to address strategies and policies related to IAF capabilities.

Celebrations to mark SLAF’s anniversary took place at Galle Face in Colombo. IAF Sarang and Suryakiran Aerobatic Team staged a flypast and aerobatic display. IAF Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria also reached Colombo to mark his presence at the event. Bhadauria is on a two-day visit to the island nation on an invitation from SLAF Commander. The Sri Lankan Air Force celebrated its 70th anniversary on March 2, 2021. SLAF is conducting an air show from March 3-5 to commemorate the occasion.
