‘Powerpuff Girls’ Live-Action Series Headed to The CW.

The live-action take on the popular Cartoon Network show was announced as being in development last August.

The new series will follow Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup as disillusioned twenty-somethings bitter about their crime-fighting childhoods.

Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier will write and executive produce.

The original animated series ran from 1998 through 2005 and was rebooted on Cartoon Network in 2016.

The CW has not yet announced a release date
