As COVID 'storm' has hit country, hospitals across nation are facing acute shortage of oxygen. Despite assurances from the UP government, there is an acute shortage of oxygen cylinders in Lucknow. People were seen rushing to oxygen agencies in Lucknow as the crisis is now leaving COVID patients gasping for breath. Oxygen being supplied to hospitals amid Police protection for safe transportation.
Migrant workers in large numbers are returning to their hometowns due to prevailing COVID situation. Lucknow's bus stand was crowded with workers returning from Delhi, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Several workers have lost their jobs due to pandemic.
As reports of oxygen shortage continue in Delhi, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia spoke over the delay in the supply of oxygen from neighboring states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Sisodia said that oxygen trucks were stopped by officials in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
