Nagaland Government reduces prices of petrol, diesel

Amid rising rates of fuel across the country, the Nagaland Government has cut down taxes on petrol and diesel.

The finance department on Feb 22 stated that the rate of tax on petrol and diesel has been reduced from 29.80 per cent to 25 per cent per litre.

According to the revised tax, petrol price has been reduced to Rs 2.22 per litre and diesel by 57 paise per litre from midnight of February 22.

"The fuel price was rising day by day.

But as the government has cut down the rate of tax on petrol, the drivers are also thinking to bring down the fare," said a driver in Dimapur.

Earlier, the northeast states of Assam and Meghalaya governments had reduced prices of petrol and diesel.
