824 assembly constituencies to go for polls in 5 states, UT: EC
During the announcement of dates for upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Chief Election Commissioner of India, Sunil Arora, said that a total of 824 assembly constituencies will be going for polls during these elections.
18.68 crore electors will cast their votes in 2.7 lakh polling stations in the four states and one UT where the elections are going to be conducted.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's DMK and ally Congress finalized a seat-sharing agreement, mirroring their successful 2019 formula. Congress secured nine seats in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry. DMK's alliance strategy aims to replicate past victories, with strategic seat allocations to allies like VCK and MDMK.
