Reacting to the firing incident in WB's Cooch Behar where four people died during polling for the fourth phase of assembly elections, TMC leader Saugata Roy on April 10 said, "Why did the Central Armed Police Forces fire? Where do they get this audacity of firing on common voters? That is the main question. This is a part of a conspiracy and we do not think that the PM is out of this conspiracy. During a public rally in West Bengal's Siliguri, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 10 said that, "It's time to change the kind of political environment that has been created in Bengal for past several decades. 'Tolabaaj mukt' Bengal will be formed now. 'Syndicate mukt' Bengal will be formed now. 'Cut money mukt' Bengal will be formed now." Meanwhile, polls are underway in 44 constituencies of WB Assembly.

BJP leader Amit Malviya released leaked audio clips of Prashant Kishor speaking to journalists. Malviya claimed that even TMC's internal surveys show BJP's win in Bengal assembly polls. Malviya took to Twitter and shared the audio clips of the public chat on Clubhouse app. In the chat, Kishor is purportedly heard saying that 'PM Modi is very popular in Bengal’. Malviya claimed that Kishor also spoke on 'anger against TMC' and ’55% Hindus are voting for BJP’. Clubhouse is an audio-only app where participants can host discussions in open rooms. Soon after TMC poll strategist Prashant Kishor audio clip leaked in which he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee equally popular in the Bengal Assembly polls, two time former TMC MLA and now BJP leader Rajib Banerjee said that Kishor strategy has failed in Bengal. "Prashant Kishor's strategy will not work in Bengal, his strategy has failed. TMC has finished here. In Bengal, only Narendra Modi's strategy will work," said BJP's Banerjee.

Locals along with family of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, who has been held captive by Naxals following the April 03 encounter, blocked Jammu-Akhnoor highway on April 07 demanding his release. Mother and wife of Manhas alleged that Centre or Chhattisgarh government is not taking any action to bring back Rakeshwar. Thus, to increase the passenger handling capacity of the airport and make the airport suitable for Airbus 320 type of Aircraft, AAI has planned the extension of the existing terminal building at a cost of Rs 26.87 crore. Spread in an area of 3440 sqm, the extended terminal will be equipped with 10 check-in-counters and two conveyor belts in arrival hall. The new expanded building will have escalators, lifts and enough space for a restaurant and commercial activities. Airports Authority of India (AAI) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation is committed to develop airport infrastructure in the country and provide the world-class services.
