Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on rising cases of coronavirus in the state said that lockdown is not a solution as it will stop economic activity. He urged people of the state to follow COVID SOPs. "COVID19 cases are increasing in Goa, I would request everyone to follow guidelines. This time we cannot impose a lockdown as this will stop economic activity. Tourists, as well as locals, should take precautionary measures," he said.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday, hours after chairing an emergency meeting on the coronavirus situation in the state. He tested positive for the second time in eight months. Yediyurappa will be shifted to Manipal hospital from Ramaiah Memorial hospital in Bengaluru where he was admitted earlier today following a fever.
With many states claiming a shortage of remdesivir, an antiviral drug used in Covid-19 treatment in certain cases, the Union government revealed a plan to double its production in the coming days. Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that within 15 days, production of the drug would be doubled from 1.5 lakh to 3 lakh vials.
