India considers "One Nation, One Election," where all major elections happen simultaneously. A committee led by former President Ram Nath Kovind submitted a detailed report on the idea to President Droupadi Murmu. They propose the first synchronised elections in 2029, aiming to simplify the process and boost voter confidence. It's a significant step towards strengthening democracy and governance across the country.

PsyPost reports that a new study by Phenikaa University
in Vietnam has highlighted one of the more common and
lingering symptoms of COVID-19: insomnia.
As a sleep researcher, I received
many questions and complaints
from relatives, friends, and colleagues
about their sleep disturbances
after recovering from Covid-19, Dr Huong T. X. Hoang, Lead author of the article
published in 'Frontiers in Public Health,' via PsyPost.
I found that the majority of papers
focused on hospitalized patients.
The environment of their treatment
and quarantine would differ greatly
from those with milder symptoms, Dr Huong T. X. Hoang, Lead author of the article
published in 'Frontiers in Public Health,' via PsyPost.
Patients were asked to compare the quality and length
of their sleep, as well as how easy it was for them to
fall asleep, before and after they contracted COVID.
Patients were asked to compare the quality and length
of their sleep, as well as how easy it was for them to
fall asleep, before and after they contracted COVID.
Of the 1,056 people surveyed, over 76.1% of
participants said they experienced insomnia.
22.8% of those surveyed reported
experiencing severe insomnia.
The study found that two groups experienced
a statistically significant increased rate of insomnia,
including those with depressive or anxious symptoms.
The authors of the study note that further
investigation of the connection between COVID,
mental health problems and insomnia is needed.
Since this is a cross-sectional
study, the relationship of anxiety
and depression with insomnia
cannot be fully investigated, Dr Huong T. X. Hoang, Lead author of the article
published in 'Frontiers in Public Health,' via PsyPost.
In addition, collecting data
online and a convenience
sampling method can cause
recall bias and selection bias. , Dr Huong T. X. Hoang, Lead author of the article

NFL Salary Cap , Rises $30.6 Million.
On Feb. 23, the NFL announced that its
2024 season salary cap will be $255.4 million per team, a record high, ESPN reports.
That is 13.6% more than last year's
cap and the largest single-year jump
since a cap was introduced in 1994.
The change could have a significant effect on the free agent market which opens in March.
That's because most teams were using salary cap projections between $240 million and $245 million
as budget guidelines for the new season.
For example, three teams that were
originally projected to exceed the cap,
the 49ers, Packers and Seahawks, should
now fall below the cap, ESPN reports. .

Part of the reason why the NFL was able to increase the cap so much is that the league has finally paid all player benefits that
were deferred amid COVID in 2020.
"An extraordinary increase in media revenue" also contributed to the increase, the NFL said.
Between 2013 and 2020, the salary
cap was increased by approximately
$10 million to $12 million each year.

and in 2023, it jumped to $224.8 million
