Fuel price hike results in increased sale of e-vehicles

Amid rising fuel prices in the country, people are opting for other substitutes for commuting and because of which sales of electronic vehicles have increased drastically in country.

People of Ludhiana are purchasing electronic vehicles.

According to Managing Director of Avon Cycles Onkar Singh, "After fuel price hike, demand for electric cycles has gone up by 10-15% in last 2 months.

We've launched E-bikes, which will be available in North India from next week." With the prices of petrol inching closer to Rs 100 per litre, the demand for battery-operated scooters is on the rise.

People want to save on fuel costs and as a result they are opting for electric vehicles.

Three persons have been confirmed dead, while seven are hospitalised after being injured in the Ludhiana rooftop collapse. The incident took place after lintel of a factory collapsed in Giaspura Daba, Ludhiana on April 5. The injured have been shifted to a hospital for treatment. NDRF, SDRF, police and district administration are present at the spot and are carrying out rescue and relief operation. Speaking to ANI, Ludhiana Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal said "3 people have died in the incident; NDRF, SDRF, Police, and district administration engaged in search operation."

One person died, 10 others got injured after lintel of a factory collapsed in Giaspura Daba, Ludhiana on April 5. The injured have been shifted to a hospital for treatment. NDRF, SDRF, police and district administration are present at the spot and are carrying out rescue and relief operation. "35 people were working here for 5 days. Lintel construction of the factory was going on with the help of support and the support broke down and it collapsed down," said Ranjeet Kumar, local.
