‘Will throw out BJP from Assam,’ says AIUDF; BJP says alliance is ‘communal’

A war of words has broken out between the AIUDF and the BJP in poll bound Assam.

AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal said that opposition parties are intent on defeating the BJP in the state in the upcoming polls.

He also added that there has been no industrial growth in the state under the BJP and promised to revive the paper of Jagiroad paper mill and Cachar mill when they come to power.

The BJP hit back saying that the Congress-AIUDF alliance is blatantly communal and added that Late Tarun Gogoi had tried to keep the AIUDF at bay during his tenure.

He also said that the people of the state trust the BJP and opinion polls have also shown that the BJP will return to power in the state.

Polling in 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections commenced at 7 am on April 19 and ended at 6 pm.
