His Holiness the Dalai Lama received his first dose of the Covid vaccine at the Zonal hospital in Dharamshala.
The Tibetan spiritual leader also urged other people to come up in large numbers and take the vaccine.
People above 60 years of age and those above 45 years with co-morbidities are eligible for vaccination in the ongoing phase of the vaccination drive.
President Kovind, PM Modi and several other union ministers and chief ministers have also received their first dose of the Covid vaccine during this phase.

Inspired by the life of the 14th Dalai Lama of the Tibet, two Tibetan activists have decided to start a bike rally from Mcleodganj to seek support for their demand to confer Bharat Ratna on his holiness. On March 22, Tibetan activists gathered in Mcleodganj to welcome the campaign. The bike rally will start from Mcleodganj to all over India on March 23. One of the Tibetan activists, Tsering Yeshi said, "My motivation came from his holiness itself." Both bikers will visit all Indian states for the next two months to get signatures on a petition for the conferment of the prestigious Bharat Ratna to the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet.

On the second day of Ramzan month, people visited Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad on April 15 to offer early morning prayers. People without masks won't be allowed and sanitizers have been placed in the Mosque premises. Speaking to ANI, Haafiz Mohammad Haneef, the Muezzin of Mecca Masjid, said that there are regular announcements through loud speakers for the people coming to the mosque to offer Namaz by following all the instructions of the government and pray to Allah to end this deadly disease soon. "Use of sanitizers and masks is compulsory to enter the mosque and people are instructed to sanitize themselves before entering the mosque and after leaving," he added. Shoaib, a local said, "We are using masks, which is compulsory for us to enter the mosque. The people are using sanitizers and maintaining social distance and also following all COVID norms."
