'She has not resigned': Congress on reports of Sushmita Dev's resignation ahead of Assam polls

Congress has clarified that All India Mahila Congress president Sushmita Dev has not resigned from the party.

Speaking on the reports of her resignation, Congress leader and Member of Parliament, Pradyut Bordoloi said that Sushmita Dev is indispensable part of Congress and very much with us.

"She is very much with us.

She is a very indispensable part of Congress.

She is respected leader of our party," said Congress Member of Parliament Bordoloi.

Polling in 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections commenced at 7 am on April 19 and ended at 6 pm. Over 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and union territories headed to the polling booth on Friday, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. West Bengal recorded the highest turnout till 5 PM at 77.57 per cent, followed by Tripura at 76.10 per cent.
