After receiving flak for giving out 'free Flabiflu' in his parliamentary constituency East Delhi, BJP MP Gautam Gambhir on Thursday asked if a few strips of Fabiflu he obtained is causing its shortage and said he is proud to save somebody's life in this pandemic. "If a few 100 strips of tablets obtained from a distributor are being given for free, then, can it be called 'hoarding'? Is my obtaining a few strips of Fabiflu causing the shortage?", he said. During the sixth phase of West Bengal Assembly elections, a clash erupted on April 22 between the workers of BJP and TMC workers in West Bengal's East Bardhaman. Reason that triggered clash is yet to be known.
Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on April 19 announced that 121 fast- track courts has been sanctioned for Bengal for sexual offences against children in West Bengal. "Been writing to Mamata Banerjee for her consent but all went in vain. You're a woman CM. What's the problem with fast-track courts for sexual offences against children?" Law Minister asked. "Fast-track courts established across country for fast-tracking cases of sexual offences against children, wherein Centre provides 50% funds and remaining states do. 121 fast-track courts sanctioned for Bengal, there has been no response from CM Mamata," he added.
As India battles a second COVID wave, Union Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad called the 2nd wave a 'global phenomenon'. "The second wave of COVID19 is a global phenomenon. What is important is how the government is responding. Till today, around 11 crore doses of vaccine have been administered. It is a satisfactory speed," he said.

"Hospitals in Delhi are facing oxygen crisis receiving messages and emails from hospitals since morning," said Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on April 22. He also accused Haryana and Uttar Pradesh government for the crisis. "Many hospitals in Delhi are facing Oxygen crisis right now. Oxygen is completely exhausted in some, I have been receiving messages and emails from hospitals since morning. We are somehow providing them cylinders by rearranging from other hospitals that have slightly more stock," said Sisodia.

Alipur Police Station, Outer North District police facilitated the movement of oxygen tanker from Singhu Border, which was stuck at Kundli Border today. The tanker was scheduled to arrive at Jaipur Golden Hospital in Rohini. All the necessary arrangements are being made by administration and government to provide oxygen to hospitals. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, on April 20, informed that in many hospitals in Delhi, medical oxygen is available for 8-10 next hours only.
A Delhi court gave the death penalty to convict Ariz Khan in the 2008 Batla House encounter. The court also charged a Rs 11 lakh fine in the case, of which Rs 10 lakh will be given to the family of Delhi Police inspector Mohan Chand Sharma who was killed in the encounter. Khan was convicted on March 8 for killing Sharma during the Batla House encounter. In its order of March 15, the court termed the case as ārarest of rare caseā. Watch the full video for more details.

The national capital is the worst hit city by COVID-19. Delhi registered 26,169 new COVID infections on April 22 which took the total COVID caseload of the city to 9,56,348. 306 new fatalities were reported in Delhi, therefore the death toll mounted to 13,193. Currently there are 91,618 active cases in the city. So far, 8,51,537 people have won the battle against COVID in the national capital. Amid surge in COVID cases, Delhi is facing the shortage of oxygen.
Amid the prevailing second wave of COVID, the arrangement of makeshift COVID hospital at Delhi's Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB) is in full swing. Delhi is reporting over 20,000 daily cases from past few days. Around 5,000 beds are about to be ready in a few days. "As per the orders of DM south, beds will be available at the earliest," Vivek, in-charge, Civil defence at RSSB, Bhati Mines told ANI.

Deputy CMO of Jind, Dr Ramesh Panchal said, "I'll also check our main store that keeps supply for entire district. I'll also inform officials."
