The milk vending machine has been installed in Pahoo area of Pulwama town by the Department of Animal Husbandry with support of local youth under the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS).
Under the scheme, the government is giving 50 percent subsidy on all dairy processing equipments necessary for the development of milk ATMs. Shabir Ahmad Wagay, an entrepreneur, who has set up the milk ATM with the help of the government, explained that the vending machine will keep the milk fresh for three days, and ease the availability for locals
An encounter happened in Pulwama on April 02 where three terrorists were gunned down by the police. Kashmir IGP, Vijay Kumar said, "When we interrogated, we got to know that three terrorists have been hidden in a house in Ghat Mohalla area. Then, the firing started at 04:30 am. Militants wanted to get out of the house but they failed to do so as security forces retaliated. Then encounter started in which three terrorists were gunned down."
The district administration of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with JK Khadi and Village Industries Board organised a workshop on beekeeping under a skill development programme for SCs and STs in the district. Muzaffar Abdul Nasir Allaqaband, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) in the Kashmir Division said, "The KVIB has been designated a nodal agency for skill development of the SC/ST community so that they can be motivated to can earn their livelihood." A trainer at the workshop, Shahnawaz Ahmad said, "A six-day workshop has been organised to train the SC/ST community. This workshop includes theoretical classes and exposure visit." The board has selected 25 youths from the SCs/STs community. They will be trained in beekeeping so that after completing the training programme they can start their own business ventures in the beekeeping sector.
Security forces eliminated three terrorists during an encounter in the Kakapora area of Pulwama in Jammu & Kashmir. Forces had launched a search and cordon operation after they received information about presence of terrorists in the area. The operation turned into an encounter when the terrorists fired on the security forces. Several incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists. IG Kashmir Police later confirmed to a news agency that the terrorists were involved in the attack on BJP leader Amwar Khan in Nowgam area on Thursday. Watch the full video for all the details.

An encounter is underway at Kakapora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district between security forces and terrorists. Army received information about terrorists hiding in the residential area. More details are awaited.
A house guard of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Anwar Khan was killed after his residence was attacked by terrorists on Thursday in Srinagar's Nowgam, Jammu and Kashmir police said. "One sentry Rameez Ahmad, critically injured in the attack succumbed to his injuries," said the police. This is not the first time that Khan has been attacked by terrorists. In 2018, terrorists had opened fire at the BJP leader at Khanmoh area in the Pulwama district. A police officer who was guarding him was injured in that attack. Watch the full video for more details.

As weekend curfew continues in Uttar Pradesh, people in the city are facing difficulties in getting cash from ATMs. "I needed cash for my daughter's marriage but most of the ATMs have run out of cash in the city," says a local. Uttar Pradesh government extended weekend lockdown to three days. However, Medical shops and hospitals will remain open during the lockdown. The weekend lockdown in the state will now be in place from Friday night till Tuesday morning.
The United Forum of Bank Union has called for a two-day nationwide strike on March 15 and 16 against the privatisation of Public Sector Banks. Over 10 lakh bank employees and officers will participate in the strike. With banks having been shut on Saturday and Sunday, banking operations will now be hit over a four-day period. Services such as deposits and withdrawal at branches, cheque clearance and loan approvals would be affected due to the strike.

Amid spiralling COVID-19 cases and deaths, Jammu and Kashmir government announced 84-hour-long lockdown, starting from 7pm on April 29 to 7 am on May 03 in several districts of Union Territory. Police patrolled in markets of Udhampur in order to ensure guidelines are being adhered. Cases are being lodged against curfew violators. Only essential service will be exempted.
