Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik has said that no final decision has been taken on imposing lockdown in Mumbai yet.

Speaking on the surge in Covid cases, Malik said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in his interaction with the Prime Minister sought permission for Haffkine Institute to produce vaccines and allow vaccination of all people above 45 years of age.

Mumbai's COVID-19 tally increased to 3,49,974 and eight deaths took the fatality count to 11,551 on Wednesday.

Maharashtra's overall infection count rose to 23,70,507 on Wednesday.
