BJP will give 33% reservation to women in govt jobs in Bengal: Amit Shah
Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted some of the promises made in party's manifesto 'Sankalp Patra' for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly, including 33% reservation for women in all state government jobs.
Amit Shah further said, "Continuing PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Rs 18,000, which Mamata didi didn't give to farmers since three years, would be transferred to 75 lakh farmers' bank accounts without any cut." BJP released their manifesto 'Sankalp Patra' on March 21 at their party office in Kolkata.
Mathura's electoral battle takes center stage, fueled by youth angst over unemployment woes. Though the BJP swept Mathura in 2019 with Hema Malini's victory, new alliances have injected uncertainty into the landscape. Amidst high-voltage campaigns, the city's lanes witness intense political outreach, from door-to-door canvassing to rallies, reflecting the stakes. Political narratives vie to capture hearts and minds in Mathura's bustling marketplaces, where economic aspirations lie untapped.
Oneindia's Pankaj Mishra takes a closer look.

The ancient city of Mathura finds itself at the center of a high-stakes political contest as Uttar Pradesh gears up for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 26. The fate of several prominent faces, including actor Hema Malini, hangs in the balance, adding an air of intrigue to the electoral fray.
Malini, the BJP's candidate from Mathura, is seeking a third consecutive term, banking on her star power and the party's development agenda to woo voters.
However, the opposition has mounted a formidable challenge, with the Congress fielding Mukesh Dhangar. Pankaj Mishra Reports on the mood of the city.
