WB polls: BJP urges Election Commission to impose Sec-144 for 2nd phase
Amid West Bengal Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegations met Chief Electoral Officer in Kolkata on March 29.
While addressing media persons, party leader Ashwini Vaishnaw said, "We've requested CEO to impose Section 144 for 2nd phase polls, to conduct them smoothly as the 1st phase.
We also told them about TMC propagating fake news and death of another BJP worker."

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended two suspects - Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taha - in connection with Bengaluru's Rameswaram Cafe blast case on Friday. The two were nabbed near West Bengal's Kolkata. Mussavir Hussain Shazib has been identified as the alleged "mastermind" behind the low-intensity blast that occurred at a prominent eatery in Bengaluru on March 1. Shazib is accused of placing the improvised explosive device (IED) at the cafe. Additionally, Abdul Matheen Taha is implicated as a co-conspirator in the incident. Both Taha and Shazib hail from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district, according to statements from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
