In a tweet this morning, the National Conference leader's son Omar Abdullah informed about his father testing positive.
He also urged everyone who came in contact with his father recently to get tested.
Replying to his tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished him a speedy recovery.

Also praying for your and the entire family’s good health @OmarAbdullah," PM Modi tweeted.
Omar replied to PM Modi, saying, "My father and the rest of the family join me in thanking you for your wishes and prayers @narendramodi ji." Farooq Abdullah, 85, received the first dose of a Covid vaccine on March 2.
National Conference president Farooq Abdullah tests positive for COVID-19. The information was confirmed by Abdullah's son, Omar Abdullah, who took to Twitter on Tuesday. "My father has tested positive for COVID-19 and is showing some symptoms. I will be self-isolating along with other family members until we get ourselves tested," Omar Abdullah wrote on Twitter. "I request anyone who has come in to contact with us over the last few days to take all the mandated precautions," he further added. The 83-year-old was found infected with coronavirus on March 30. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 death toll in JandK rose to 1,989 on March 28 with four more fatalities, while 309 new cases pushed the infection tally to 1,29,993, as per officials.
While addressing a press conference in Jammu on March 23, the president of National Conference (NC), Farooq Abdullah said, "Congress has become weak. I am saying this honestly. Congress will have to wake up and stand strong if they want to save the country. They will have to look after problems faced by people." "This won't happen while sitting at home," he added.

Terrorists launched an attack at a municipal office in Jammu & Kashmir on March 29. The attack during a meeting of councillors led to the death of one of them.
