'Insult to women of Assam': PM Modi on Ajmal seen throwing 'gamosa'
AIUDG chief Badruddin Ajmal has triggered controversy for allegedly throwing a 'gamosa'.
Referring to this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his rally in Kokrajhar said that everyone who loves Assam is hurt and angry after seeing those pictures as the hard work of the women of Assam 'Gamosa' was insulted publicly.
PM Modi said, "Congress leaders say that the 'lock and key' (AIUDF symbol) people are the identity of Assam.
Understand the lies and conspiracy of Congress.
It has surrendered before such people to come back to power.
Not only Congress but the entire Mahajot will be punished for this insult."
Polling in 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections commenced at 7 am on April 19 and ended at 6 pm. Over 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and union territories headed to the polling booth on Friday, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. West Bengal recorded the highest turnout till 5 PM at 77.57 per cent, followed by Tripura at 76.10 per cent. Voter turnout in Assam stood at 70.77 per cent, while Manipur recorded a voter turnout of 68.58 per cent till 5 PM.
