Nandigram: Mamata complains of 'poll-rigging' to Guv amidst 'Jai Shri Ram' chants

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee dialled state governor Jagdeep Dhankar from Nandigram on Thursday.

Mamata alleged that locals were not being allowed to exercise their franchise in Nandigram.

Nandigram, the centrepiece of Bengal elections, is voting today in the second phase.

The TMC supremo is taking on her aide-turned arch rival Suvendu Adhikari from BJP.

Mamata, who was monitoring polling from her Nandigram home, stepped out at around 1 pm.

The CM visited the polling booth after TMC leaders complained of booth capture, rigging by BJP.

Sloganeering could be heard as Mamata sat inside the booth, with iterations of 'Jai Shree Ram’.

Amid chaos, the voter turnout in the second phase of polls touched 60.97% till 3:10 pm.

The eight-phase polling will conclude on April 29 while the counting of votes will take place on May 2.
