Only recently, Badruddin Ajmal disrespected the (Assamese) gamocha. Congress party can only indulge in the politics of opportunism,” he said. “People who set these guarantees have very limited knowledge. The five guarantees by Congress is a display of mental bankruptcy,” he added. The three-phase Assam polls will conclude on April 6, votes will be counted on May 2.

After BJP failed to wrest West Bengal from TMC despite a high pitch election campaign, state party chief Dilip Ghosh said BJP will analyse the election results as to what went wrong, but added that the party's performance since the last assembly elections has increased many fold.
