During a press conference in Chennai, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda said the party is making quick progress in the state of Kerala as because LDF and UDF have given misgovernance.
"In Kerala, we are coming as a force because LDF and UDF have given misgovernance.
People have started supporting BJP so we will do good in Kerala too," said BJP national president.
Kerala state assembly elections will be held in a single phase on April 06.
The country is witnessing exponential surge in COVID-19 cases and because of which several states have imposed lockdown in order to break the transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Kerala Government too has imposed a nine-day lockdown to contain disease transmission. The streets wore a deserted look in Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala police was on strict vigil to enforce lockdown restrictions. Only essential services have been exempted of the restrictions. The state-wide lockdown which was enforced from May 8 will end on 16, 2021.
A week after results of the Assam Assembly elections were announced, the Bharatiya Janata Party finally ended the suspense about who will be the new Chief Minister. Himanta Biswa Sarma, a minister in the outgoing government has been selected for the top post. He will be replacing Sarbananda Sonowal who may be accommodated in the Union Cabinet in the future. The announcement was made during a meeting of the BJP legislative party, which was also attended by Union minister and BJP central observer Narendra Tomar. Watch the full video for more.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan met state Governor Arif Mohammed Khan at Raj Bhavan on May 03 after historic victory in Assembly election. He has submitted his resignation to the governor Khan. Vijayan is set to be sworn in as chief minister of Kerala for second consecutive term. Communist Party of India (M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) retained power in Kerala by winning 99 seats against 41 seats of Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in the Assembly polls.
BJP president JP Nadda alleged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's involvement in post-poll violence and said her silence for 36 hours is in itself is a proof. "The manner in which massacre and brutal killings took place and the manner in which the acting CM stayed silent for 36 hours speaks of her involvement. Mamata ji's silence speaks about her involvement and she starts her third term with blood on her hands," said Nadda.

Chennai Air Customs on May 08 recovered 251 grams of gold worth Rs 12.21 lakh from a passenger who reached airport from Dubai. The gold was found inside the cordless vacuum cleaner. The custom official seized the gold under Customs Act, 1962. Further investigation is on.
