South Africa's opposition parties responded to President Cyril Ramaphosa's cabinet reshuffle.

Corne Mulder from the Freedom Front Plus said President Ramaphosa missed an opportunity to send a clear message of his intent to change things within the executive.

Mulder said it's quite laughable that Bathabile Dlamini has survived another cabinet reshuffle.

Solly Malatsi, spokesman for the opposition, the Democratic Alliance, said the reshuffle represents a big missed opportunity to remove Bathabile Dlamini and Nomvula Mokonyane.

Malatsi said it's clear that Ramaphosa was trying to sustain the various factions within the ANC so that he is not vulnerable.

Deidre Carter, the chief whip for COPE (Congress of the People, welcomed the merger of the communications and telecommunications portfolios.

Carter said she was disappointed in what she believed was Ramaphosa choosing the best interests of the ANC, instead of the best interests of the people of South Africa.

Nqabayomzi Kwankwa from the UDM (United Democratic Movement), says Ramaphosa missed an opportunity to let South Africans into his confidence and did not walk the talk of the new dawn which he had promised in his state of the nation address.

Mbuyizeni Ndloze, spokesman for the EFF (Economic Freedom Fighters), welcomed the merging of the communications and telecommunications portfolios as well as the appointment of Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams as Minister oc Communications and Digital Technologies.
