Raipur to be declared containment zone from April 9
As second wave of coronavirus gripped country, the entire district of Raipur will be declared containment zone from April 9th.
"Keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation, Raipur district will be declared a containment zone from 6 pm on 9th April till 6 am on 19th April.
All the borders of the district will remain sealed during this period," said Raipur district collector S Bharathi Dasan during a press conference on April 07.
Chhattisgarh reported 9,921 new infections on April 06 taking the total caseload of the state to 3,68,269.
Polling in 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections commenced at 7 am on April 19 and ended at 6 pm. Over 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and union territories headed to the polling booth on Friday, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. West Bengal recorded the highest turnout till 5 PM at 77.57 per cent, followed by Tripura at 76.10 per cent. Voter turnout in Assam stood at 70.77 per cent, while Manipur recorded a voter turnout of 68.58 per cent till 5 PM.
