The country is witnessing exponential surge in COVID-19 cases and because of which several states have imposed lockdown in order to break the transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Kerala Government too has imposed a nine-day lockdown to contain disease transmission. The streets wore a deserted look in Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala police was on strict vigil to enforce lockdown restrictions. Only essential services have been exempted of the restrictions. Speaking to Hindustan Times’ Aditi Prasad, Dr. Jalil Parkar said many patients who recovered after being given steroids came back a few months later with multiple problems. ‘1 lakh out of the 2 crore odd Covid patients could end up with diabetes if people do not know when to stop using steroids,’ Dr. Parkar warned.
