Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan showed concerns over increasing cases in Chhattisgarh. The weekly positivity is increasing from one and a half percent. "It has increased to 27.9% almost 28%," he said.

Baghel said that the delegation had shown a lot of maturity in their mediation. He added that the role of journalists and all other officials in the operation was also very vital. The Chief Minister also revealed how he made a promise to the jawan’s mother that they would get him back safely. He expressed happiness over bringing him back and thanked journalists and other officials who played an important role in the vital operation. "When we visited Jagdalpur, Rakeshwar's mother had asked me to bring back her son safely. Today, I am happy that we succeeded in bringing him back. The role of journalists and all other officials was very vital in this operation. I thank all of them," the CM said. CoBRA Jawan, Rakeshwar Singh Manhas said, "On April 07, I got to know that a delegation is coming to take me back. On April 08, they (Naxals) released me in a jan sabha."

Soon after Maharashtra government announced strict restrictions including Section 144 to contain COVID-19 spread from April 14, migrant workers started to return to their hometowns. Sharing their plight, one of the migrants said, "We are heading to our villages since this lockdown was announced. We have faced a lot, if we get stuck this time as well, what will we do? Government does not care about the poor." A huge queue of migrants was seen at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai.
Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan cleared that there is no shortage of COVID-19 vaccine in the country. He said, "Issue is about better planning and not the shortage of doses". "Till now we've provided 13,10,90,000 doses to states and union territories. On one hand, we have states like Kerala where there is zero wastage (of vaccine) and on the other hand, we have several other states where there still is 8-9% of wastage. As per data till 11 am today, unutilised doses available with states/UTs is over 1,67,20,000. This month - till April end - 2,01,22,960 doses will be provided to states/UTs. This clearly shows that issue is about better planning and not the shortage of doses," he added.
