CM Banerjee challenged PM Modi by saying if she hasn't done anything for 'Matua community' then she will "quite the politics". Grain market in Amritsar wore deserted look despite the state government announced the beginning of procurement of produce on Apr 10. Commission agents and farmers had staged strike in support of the farmers protesting for the past few months over Centre's farm laws. Punjab Food and Supplies Minister, Bharat Bhushan Ashu said, "Commission agents have called off their strike over direct benefit transfer to farmers. The procurement process will be started now at Rajpura mandi. The farmers will get payments in their accounts."
As the country is reeling under the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, long queue of ambulances seen outside 1200-beded Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. Oxygen is being administered to patients in the ambulance only. On March 12, state reported 6,021 new infections and 55 deaths. Currently, Gujarat has over 30,000 actives cases of coronavirus, out of which 7,165 are in Ahmedabad alone. Gujarat is among the 10 worst-affected states in India due to pandemic.
Gujarat's Vadodara administration has made a unique punishment for the people who violate COVID norms. If a person found violating the norms, administration clapped for them and garlanded them. Gujarat has reported over 4,500 cases on April 10.
Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan showed concerns over increasing cases in Chhattisgarh. The weekly positivity is increasing from one and a half percent. "It has increased to 27.9% almost 28%," he said.

"When we visited Jagdalpur, Rakeshwar's mother had asked me to bring back her son safely. Today, I am happy that we succeeded in bringing him back. The role of journalists and all other officials was very vital in this operation. I thank all of them," the CM said. CoBRA Jawan, Rakeshwar Singh Manhas said, "On April 07, I got to know that a delegation is coming to take me back. On April 08, they (Naxals) released me in a jan sabha."
Maharashtra Government on Tuesday announced a 15-day long statewide curfew from April 14 amid the spike in coronavirus cases in the state. The curfew, which excludes essential services, will come into effect from 8 pm on Wednesday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said in his address via social media to people of the state. Section 144 (prohibitory orders) of the Criminal Procedure Code will be in force till the "lockdown-like" restrictions are in place, Thackeray said. Watch the full video for more details.
