Manipur Regional Saras Fair brings rural women under one platform
Manipur Regional Saras Fair 2021 is underway in Manipur.
The fair is being organized to promote the local artisans and weavers of the state to showcase their products.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh inaugurated the eight-day long Regional Saras Fair, 2021 at Iboyaima Shumangleela Shanglen, Palace compound, Imphal East.
The Regional Saras Fair is being organized by Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM), Department of Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj.
Overnight, three medium-intensity explosions rocked a bridge in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, causing damage. The blasts occurred close to Sapormeina along National Highway-2, linking Imphal to Dimapur in Nagaland. This incident unfolded just two days prior to the second phase of Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to take place in certain areas of Outer Manipur. According to a security official, the event transpired around 1:15 am near Sapormeina in Kangpokpi district.
