Jewellery business struggles amid spike in COVID cases in Patna
COVID cases continued to surge in Bihar and during this time, jewellers in Patna are facing hardship.
The increased number of COVID cases has hampered jewellery sales during wedding season.
A jeweller in Patna said, "Last year was very bad for us.
But this year too, business prospects are not good for us, especially for small jewellers catering to middle-class families because they are struggling with extreme cash crunch.
This has affected our business." The rescheduling or cancelling of wedding have directly hit the sales and a jeweller said, "Jewellery sales are not up to our expectations because weddings are being rescheduled or cancelled due to rising cases." A few customers are visiting the stores due to COVID fear.
