Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah promised that political and poll-related violence will end in Bengal after BJP comes to power in West Bengal.
"Except for this one incident (Sitalkuchi), elections in West Bengal have been conducted peacefully so far.
I promise that after BJP comes to power here political and poll-related violence will end in Bengal," said HM Shah.
In Murshidabad, clashes erupted during a Ram Navami procession, leaving about 20 injured from stone pelting. Prohibitory orders were enforced under Section 144. Another incident involved a blast in Shaktipur, injuring a woman. The BJP accused Mamata Banerjee of inciting tensions, while the TMC blamed the BJP for provoking clashes. Police intervened, and Section 144 was imposed district-wide.
