Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh handed over 15 basic life support ambulances to Health department on April 24. The ceremony was held at the western gate of Chief Minister's Secretariat. The ambulances were donated by National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL). Ambulances are fully equipped with oxygen cylinders.

Bharat Biotech has submitted Phase 3 clinical trial data for its Covid-19 vaccine, Covaxin, to the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI). The development comes nearly five months after Covaxin was authorised for emergency usage in the country.

In the view of increasing trends in COVID-19 cases in Manipur, state government has imposed curfew in seven districts till May 17th to check the spread of COVID-19. The restriction has been imposed under Section 144 of the CrPC. All those who are dealing with the supply of specified essential services are allowed. People going out for COVID testing and vaccination have been exempted from the order.
