Chhattisgarh will start vaccination drive for 18+ with Antyodaya cardholders, informed Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on April 30. "So far, 7,13,706 people have been infected with COVID19 in the State. More 55 lakh doses of vaccine administered in the state so far. We have decided that we will vaccinate those between 18-44 yrs for free. We will start vaccination with Antyodaya cardholders," said CM Baghel.
Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel on April 23 said in today's meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over deteriorating condition of COVID-19 in the country, all the Chief Ministers of the states has raised the price issue of vaccines, and said there should be one rate of vaccines for Centre and state. "Regarding vaccination drive from May 1st, we asked how many vaccines will be given to us by the Centre. Also asked that how many vaccines, and when will we get from the 2 companies. All CMs said there should be one rate (of vaccines for centre and state)," Baghel told ANI.
Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel on April 23 informed 388.88 metric ton of Oxygen is being produced daily in the state, 160 MT of Oxygen is being consumed in the state daily, the remaining is going to different states. "Initially, Chhattisgarh also faced oxygen crisis. I spoke to experts, doctors on 7th April and gave the license to produce Medical Oxygen to 8 Plants that produced Industrial Oxygen. Today Chhattisgarh has 27 units that produce Oxygen, 2 are producing Liquid Oxygen." "So 388.88 MT of Oxygen is being produced daily in the state. 160 MT of Oxygen is being consumed in the state daily, the remaining is going to different states. There is no obstruction anywhere," Chhattisgarh CM told to ANI.
Health Minister of Chhattisgarh, TS Singh Deo on May 08 said the state government will receive 3.50 lakh doses of Covishield today and the further vaccination will go on with this. "We received 1.50 lakh Covaxin doses from Bharat Biotech on May 1 and the vaccination is going on with that. We'll receive 3.50 lakh doses of Covishield today and the vaccination will further go on with this," Deo said media persons.
24 states including Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have more than 15% positivity rate for COVID-19 in their daily infections, informed Union Health Ministry. "Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Haryana and Bihar have a high caseload," said Arti Ahuja, Additional Secretary (Health) while addressing a press conference in Delhi.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Chhattisgarh's Jagdalpur on April 05. He paid tribute to slain soldiers who lost their lives in Naxal attack. CM Bhupesh Baghel also paid tribute to the slain soldiers. At least 22 security personal have lost their lives in the attack on April 03. 16 out of 31 who sustained injuries in the encounter are from CRPF.
Home Minister Amit Shah & Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel paid respects to martyrs in Jagdalpur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also joined the Home Minister in laying wreath on the coffins of the martyrs. Shah will later also chair a high-level meeting at the Police Coordination Centre on the Left Wing Extremism situation. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, senior officials of the state police and the Central Reserve Police Force are also set to attend the meeting. The Home Minister will also visit the Basaguda camp of the CRPF in Bijapur and interact with the CRPF and state police personnel. CRPF recovered a 7-kg improvised explosive device (IED) in Chhattisgarh. The explosive device was found by troops of CoBRA 206 Battalion. CRPF jawans destroyed the IED planted by Naxals in a controlled explosion. The IED was destroyed in the forest area of Minpa in Sukma district.

A passenger train was derailed by Naxals between Bhansi and Bacheli in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada on April 23. About 30 passengers were onboard and all are safe. District Reserve Guard jawans deployed to rescue the passengers. Earlier, April 04, Naxals ambushed security forces during an anti-insurgency operation and killed 22 jawans.
Encounter broke out between security forces and Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada. Search operation was launched by District Reserve Guard (DRG) after inputs and body of a Naxal was recovered following gunbattle.
