Mamata Banerjee looks everything through glasses of politics: JP Nadda over her Cooch Behar visit

While speaking to ANI, BJP chief JP Nadda on April 13 said, "She (Mamata Banerjee) can go (to Cooch Behar), it's democracy but she said nothing about Anand Burman, a 22-yr-old youth who was killed.

We spoke about everyone, the four people who were killed, Anand Burman, and even the Bihar SHO who was beaten to death in Uttar Dinajpur.

She is the CM but she said nothing.

She looks at everything through the glasses of politics.

We look at society from a development point of view and we speak of taking everyone together."

People died in Cooch Behar because CM Mamata instigated them: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah blamed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for violence that happened during fourth phase of polls in Cooch Behar's Sitalkuchi. The violent incident had claimed lives of four people. "Didi is abusing BJP unnecessarily. You're mistaken that BJP is contesting against you. It is the mothers, sisters of North Bengal, Rajbongshi community, the Gorkha community, the tea workers, the farmers who are contesting against you," said Amit Shah. He further said, "The 4th phase polls were held in North Bengal. Didi instigated people, told them to gherao CRPF and loot them. People listened to her, weapons were snatched, bullets were fired, four people died. Didi had you not instigated them they wouldn't have died. A fifth person also died. A youth, Anand Burman had gone to cast his vote but TMC goons shot him dead. Didi is speaking about the 4 but nothing on Anand Burman. Why? It's because he belonged to Rajbongshi community that is not a part of her vote bank." Eight-phase Bengal elections will conclude on April 29.

A purported video from Sitalkuchi in Bengal's Cooch Behar is doing rounds on social media. Four villagers had died in the area in an altercation with CRPF jawans during the fourth phase of polling. Ruling TMC said video vindicates its position that there was no provocation for CRPF to fire. TMC MP and spokesperson Derek O'Brien went on to dub it as cold-blooded genocide. The video shows many locals gathered in a field, while some are seen wielding sticks. In the viral video, some central force jawans can also be seen.
